Welcome to JEVS - 2010!
Article Outline
First, a very Happy New Year! Second, our heartfelt wishes that this year be full of good reading, happiness and that your rewards are grand for all you do to better equine health.
When I sat down to write this editorial to greet you to the first issue of the New Year, my mind swerved in many directions. We have been writing editorials for every issue of JEVS for many years and welcoming our readers from all over the world to a new volume of the journal—it has always been an easy editorial to write.
But this time, I worried that the world had changed profoundly since the beginning of volume 29—and now volume 30; I wondered how these changes had impacted all our many friends and loyal readers who make this journal what it is: a readership of people from all professions with a common interest and goal. For those of you who are not familiar with our vision for this journal, it is simply and only this: to publish the most current and timely information to make you the best at what you do.
So in spite of all the turbulence in the WORLD—in spite of a suffering economy and all the myriad of obstacles that have challenged each and everyone of us in the past year—we have persevered. We have made progress on many fronts as you read in 2009 and you will be reading starting with the first issue of this year. We want to continue to whet your appetite to read each and every issue cover-to-cover and with this, infuse you with the spirit in striving to be the best clinician, scientist, academician and person possible.
We want to reaffirm to you—our readers—that we will continue to provide you with good communications and education material throughout the year!
And finally in closing, I want you to know that you are the motivation for why we strive to publish the finest reports of the clinical and research accomplishments of our colleagues and that the future is as bright as the sunshine I view from my office window.
THANK YOU and GREAT READING!
