A New Year Approaching
Article Outline
It is hard to believe, but the January 2010 issue of the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science will begin my fifth year as editor of the journal. We are pleased with the progress of the journal and are extremely grateful to the many authors who have decided to publish in the journal as well as the hundreds of reviewers who have taken time to provide excellent reviews.
Thanks to Tony Trioli, the publisher of the journal, we were able to increase the page numbers for 2010 due to the increase in demand for space. The January issue, as well as all the others in 2010, will have a 30% page increase compared with 2009. This is due to the number of manuscripts which have been accepted and are awaiting publication.
In addition, we have taken the opportunity to publish some of the proceedings from various important meetings, such as the Equine Science Society meeting. In February, we will publish the proceedings from the AAEP Foundation's “Equine Laminitis Research Workshop” organized by Dr. Rustin D. Moore, chair of the department of clinical sciences at The Ohio State University. This will occupy the entire February issue and it is certainly to be a heavily sought after issue of the journal.
With the expansion of the journal, we have decided not to provide an editorial every month but only when topics of major significance should be presented. I look forward to another five years as editor of the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science. I am extremely appreciative of the help I have received.
