May Editorial
Article Outline
As we announced in an earlier editorial, the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science has become the official journal of the Equine Science Society. We are extremely pleased to publish the proceedings of their annual meeting in this May issue.
This is the first time that the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science has published proceedings from the Equine Science Society. As you will notice, there are five manuscripts from invited speakers in the areas of reproduction, nutrition, teaching and extension, exercise physiology, and production and management. This demonstrates the breadth of information that will be presented at the Equine Science Society meeting to be held in Keystone, Colorado on May 29-31, 2009.
In addition to these invited review papers, there are also well over 100 abstracts representing presentations that will be made at the meeting in the areas of reproduction, nutrition, teaching and extension, genetics, exercise physiology, and production and management. We feel that this will be an issue of the journal that will be sought after by veterinarians, academicians, and horsemen interested in these various areas of equine science.
We are certain that this relationship between the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science and the Equine Science Society will result in a greater number of manuscripts submitted to the journal over the next year. We are thankful to the board of the Equine Science Society for adopting the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science as their official journal and look forward to a long relationship.
