Article Outline

This issue of Journal of Equine Veterinary Science comprises manuscripts from the Third West

Coast Equine Reproduction Symposium (WCERS) held December 2-4, 2008, in Buellton, California. Held every 4 years prior to the AAEP Convention, this symposium is designed for practitioners to get up-to-date information on the non-pregnant and pregnant mare, stallion, and neonate. The organizational team for this year's symposium included Ed Squires (University of Kentucky), Jan Roser (University of California, Davis), Barry Ball (University of California, Davis), Michelle LeBlanc (Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital), and Mark Rick (Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center). Lectures are scheduled over the first two days of the symposium and, on the third day, a wet lab is hosted by Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center, a large equine practice.

Proceeds from the previous two symposia, along with this one, have been donated to the International Symposium on Equine Reproduction (ISER). ISER is held every 4 years as a venue for international veterinary practitioners and scientists to present the latest information on equine reproduction. The next ISER meeting (ISER X) will be held in Lexington, Kentucky, July 25-30, 2010.

We hope that you enjoy this special double issue of the Journal and find the information useful and informative.
