Editorial—Create the Future

Article Outline

This editorial and those that will appear in the next several issues of JEVS are jointly written by both JEVS Editors. We have been working as partners during the first half of 2008 to “Create The Future” for JEVS. Our work has been guided by this goal: To create the most valuable journal possible for our readers! After meeting in mid 2007, our analysis was that the basic ingredients are already in place—the groundwork for success has been established. The final ingredient is you, the reader. Only with your input and opinions can JEVS become the guiding light to the equine veterinary community that we envision.

In our role as editors, we believe one of our most important tasks is to stay in touch with our readership and, with the help of the Advisory and Editorial Boards, provide our readers with the newest developments and most up-to-date information in equine veterinary research and clinical techniques. We are working to make JEVS a journal that you want to read cover to cover every month. This task would be impossible without the assistance of our editorial staff, Board members, authors, peer reviewers, and you, the reader. With this assistance we hope to continue to improve the Journal and make it even more useful.

In future issues of JEVS, we will discuss specific steps to maximize the benefit of JEVS to you, our respected and valued colleagues. We have already received helpful feedback regarding potential changes. Please provide us with your ideas and vision of what you want to read and see each month. Thank you!
