Streptococcus zooepidemicus Myocardial Abscessation in a 1-Month-Old Thoroughbred Foal

Abstract 

A 1-month-old male Thoroughbred foal was presented at necropsy. A focal purulent lesion was observed in the right ventricular free wall of the myocardium. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of Streptococcus zooepidemicus myocardial abscessation in an equine.
